Mediation

Peter Dingman is certified as a mediator by the Institute for Conflict Management. His mediation practice centers on assisting in the resolution of disputes arising from the ownership of real estate and/or among the members, partners or stockholders of closely held businesses. Over the past 35 years the economic cost of resolving disputes by litigation has soared, the time required to achieve a final resolution has increased and the resulting disruption and dissipation of the time, energy and emotions of the participants has soured many litigants on the process.

Minimize costs and losses in a timely fashion

Nationwide statistics indicate that roughly 65% of court rendered judgments are never paid, while compliance with mediation resolutions is somewhere in the vicinity of 95%. Court proceedings typically permit only binary resolutions where one side's win is the others loss. The voluntary, confidential resolution achieved in successful mediations almost always provides some degree of satisfaction for all sides and in virtually every case finality and closure are achieved at a fraction of the cost in the time litigation would be moving sluggishly from procedural disputes to the drudgery of discovery battles.

Mediation provides an effective, efficient alternative, in which parties voluntarily come together to design a solution to their conflict that is far more likely to be fair to all sides than a judgment rendered by a judge or jury.

Pete Dingman's approach to mediation encourages:

  • Early engagement
  • Mutual distillation of issues and factual disputes
  • Participant buy-in
  • Creative and practical resolutions

Many cases can be resolved in a single day, or less, for a fee less than $5000. Please contact Mr. Dingman for a brief description of the process. This consultation is without fee.
